Dasanxian Dance is also called Viennese waltz.
It is a traditional folk collective dance that Sani people developed with
reference to "Axi Dance in the Bright Moonlight", expressing
happiness, optimism, passion. Dancers dance while playing instruments. The
basic pace of this dance is three steps and one kick and then formation change
according to this pace, thus called "Viennese waltz”. When dancing, young
men hold Dasanxian and accompany medium flute, small flute
and whistle. When flutes sound, young men play and dance, and girls hold hands
to dance in a row towards the young men. With clear instrument sound and beat,
people clap and dance happily. Both sides dance in the pace of
three steps and one kick. After three steps, girls usually have a 360-degree
turn naturally. Because of large amount of exercise, people usually dance for
four or five minutes at a time and take a rest, and then dance again. This will
repeat again and again, looking monotonous but intriguing. Fast and cheerful
with full emotions, Viennese waltz is suitable for young people to dance, thus
called "dance for youth". It is also called “dance with Dasanxian”.
