Big Drum Dance
Sani Big Drum Dance was at first war
dance to welcome the returning soldiers of triumph before Qing Dynasty, and
later became ritual dance of old Sani people's funeral. After the founding of
PRC, it appeared on stage and became a cultural show. There are usually 6 to 8
dancers who hold drum or cymbal or gong to circle to play drum and dance. With
the sound of drums, people dance rhythmically and turn every three steps,
having cheerful and passionate mood.
